WASHINGTON — The Department of Defense announced it invested another chunk of cash from the Biden administration’s CHIPS and Science Act into the Microelectronics Commons, the latest significant infusion meant to spur domestic semiconductor development across the country.
BOSTON – The Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub today announced $1,038,133 in grants to 13 companies through its Powering Regional Opportunities for Prototyping Microelectronics (PROPEL) Manufacturing Program.
MIT and Lincoln Laboratory are participants in four microelectronics proposals selected for funding to the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition (NEMC) Hub. Highlighting the Hub’s strength in diverse sectors, its submissions covered all six of the critical technology execution areas identified by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) including 5G/6G technology, AI Hardware, Commercial Leap Ahead Technologies, Electromagnetic Warfare, Secure Edge/IoT computing, and Quantum Technologies.
