A central tenet of the NEMC Hub approach is to create a vibrant microelectronics ecosystem that enables our members to thrive. These programs will further facilitate microelectronics innovation and transition into U.S.-based production.
Jumpstart Activities
Equipment and Facilities
The goal of the program is to lower the barriers for NEMC Hub members to networked access facilities (such as “passports” to expedite safety, training, and other entry requirements across facilities), and to offer discounted or free licenses for critical software packages.
Jumpstart Voucher Program
To develop a nascent semiconductor invention into a technology that can be used by millions typically necessitates a decade or more in time, requires capital investments of more than $100M per technology, and falls outside the time frame private capital investors will consider. To enable growth of such new ideas into transformative technologies, the NEMC Hub is launching, as part of a broader initiative, a Jumpstart Voucher Program to support early and mid-stage startups. This financial support will help startups access the tools, expertise, and resources at discounted rates, that are needed to mature these novel technologies to a point where venture capital or commercial entities will invest in them.
Start-up Mentorship and Training
The program is designed to accelerate the growth and success of startups or early-stage companies. The program will offer a wide-range of services to assist startups and small companies in establishing themselves as a viable business.
